Blue Flag is an international eco-label representing environmental excellence. It is awarded annually based on 4 criteria: education about environmental awareness, general environment, waste management and water management.

The Blue Flag organisation supports local authorities in their work to teach people  to respect the beach and its environment.

It also takes into account the accessibility of the site for people with limited mobility.

Pouldreuzic has obvious advantages...

The quality of its coastline and seawater for swimming, its nature conservation area, its partnership with  "Bretagne vivante" (Society for Nature Study and Protection  in Brittany) to protect the Kentish plover (an endangered species), and finally its designation as a Natura 2000 site, all support the choice of this internationally-known and respected eco-label.

"Penhors Accessible" from summer 2012!

As from the summer of  2012,  Penhors will be listed as a approved site which is accessible for visitors with limited mobility. The Blue Flag will be flown by the Lifeguard Post and an information board in French and English will be put in place. Various equipment have been installed: toilets, a ramp leading to the beach, a Tiralo beach wheelchair,  tactile paving by pedestrian crossings to help people with impaired vision.

These installations will help make life easier and more pleasant for us all !
