Throughout the year the Bay of Audierne offers an ever-changing panorama of images depending on the tide, the weather and even the time of day.

In winter, battered by the wind and waves, our beaches and coastal paths are marvellous places to walk to witness the strength and force of the elements and enjoy an amazing sense of freedom.

In summer the excellent quality of its water make the Bay a well-known place to swim. Penhors beach obtained Blue Flag status in 2012 for the quality of its environment, its water and infrastructures.

The Bay of Audierne beaches where there are lifeguards in summer can be seen on our interactive map.

The Bay of Audierne is also a great place for fans of surfing enthusiasts and fans of other adventure water sports including, kite-surfing, bodyboarding and stand-up paddle... alone or with the Surf School which is based at Penhors beach.

Penhors-Plovan beach is an ideal site for sand-yachting. Plein Ouest sand-yachting school offers a range of activities in single and double sand-yachts.

To see what the weather is like and the state of the waves, look at our webcam images which are updated every hour !
